sr151/introduced.txtUNOFFICIAL COPY 26 RS BR 25101A RESOLUTION recognizing and honoring Bob Quick upon his forthcoming2 retirement as president and CEO of Commerce Lexington.3WHEREAS, Bob Quick was appointed as president and CEO of the Greater4 Lexington Chamber of Commerce in 2001 and guided the organization through a merger5 of three organizations that would become Commerce Lexington; and6WHEREAS, Bob Quick has more than 39 years of experience in the chamber7 profession. Bob Quick previously served as the president and CEO of the Metropolitan8 Evansville, Indiana, Chamber of Commerce and as the Executive Vice President of the9 Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce; and10WHEREAS, under Bob Quick's steady leadership and commitment to11 collaboration, Commerce Lexington has become one of the top chambers in the country,12 receiving a multitude of awards, including the 2016 Chamber of the Year Award and Top13 3 Chambers in 2014 and 2015 from the Association of Chamber of Commerce14 Executives, Economic Development Organization of the Year by Business Facilities in15 2024 and 2025, the 2022 Unity Award, and Top 20 Mac Conway Economic16 Development Agency by Site Selection Magazine in 2018, 2020, and 2021; and17WHEREAS, Bob Quick has made a significant achievement in building regional18 collaboration efforts for the betterment of Lexington, with a renewed focus on giving19 businesses a more effective voice and collaborating with government officials, faith20 leaders, and educators to listen to their needs. His efforts were further recognized when21 the Greater Lexington Region was named a top place for business and industry in 202322 and 2024 according to Site Selection Magazine's annual rankings of the top metros based23 on economic development; and24WHEREAS, Bob Quick is a proud graduate of the University of Illinois at25 Champaign-Urbana, and now resides in Lexington, where he and his wife Julie attend St.26 John's Lutheran Church along with their three adult children, Kierstin, Andrew, and27 Morgan, and two granddaughters, Wren and Lilja.
