A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Denise
Lane "Deni" Hamilton.
WHEREAS, Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton was born on October 15, 1953, in
Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Rudolph "Rudy" Lane and Thelma "TJ" Theiss Lane; and
WHEREAS, Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton was born into a military family and
moved all over the country with her two sisters, eventually graduating from high school
in Juneau, Alaska, after attending 14 different schools; and
WHEREAS, Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton earned degrees in Psychology and Art
from Berry College in Georgia, and later followed her younger sister to Western
Kentucky University, where she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Hamilton; and
WHEREAS, what began as a beautiful friendship blossomed into 47 years of
marriage, filled with shared adventures, travels around the world, four children, 11
grandchildren, and now deep roots in Georgetown, Kentucky, where Bill Hamilton was
born and raised; and
WHEREAS, Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton gave her heart and soul to her children,
coaching various teams, running hospitality rooms, and never missing one of the kids'
sporting events; and she cherished her grandchildren and made the holidays so special for
everyone, with Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4th, and Easter being her favorites; and
WHEREAS, Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton extended her love beyond her family to
her community as a go-to person for advice, a shoulder to cry on, and someone to vent to,
with an uncanny ability to calm tense situations, and she quickly became "Mama Deni"
for many other children; and
WHEREAS, Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton decorated for countless weddings, even
hosting some in her backyard. She hosted a weekly Sunday dinner, a Hamilton family
tradition, spreading her unique gift for making everyone feel welcome, without regard to
age, status, or circumstances. She possessed the kind of generosity that touched all who
knew her, and she frequently opened her home for birthday parties and celebrations; and

WHEREAS, Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton also served her community by creating
wonderful events for civic clubs, organizations, and fundraisers, entertaining thousands
and supporting civic causes while lifting a community; and
WHEREAS, Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton spent the last 45 years of her life as a
real estate agent. She owned her own company, was a lifetime member of the TOP
Producer's Club, was asked to serve on the Board for Realty Community and the Board
of Professional Standards, was appointed by the Governor of Kentucky to the Real Estate
Commission, and was named Realtor of the Year in 2022 among more than 4000 industry
professionals. She also proudly served on the Board of Trustees for Georgetown
Community Hospital for 15 years. And she was one of the original board members for
her beloved Euko-En on the Elkhorn Japanese Friendship Garden, having been a member
of the first small group from Georgetown to visit Tahara Cho, Japan, in 1988, to begin
the Sister City discussions; and
WHEREAS, Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton dreamed big, lived big, and loved big.
She had a servant's heart, always seeking the best for everyone she worked with, and she
was selfless in every way and made this world a better place; and
WHEREAS, Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton is survived by her husband Bill
Hamilton, her children, Kyle (Stacy) Hamilton, Archibald (Chelsea) William Hamilton,
VI, and Carrie Hamilton (Steve) Lepore; her sister, Beth Lane (Duff) Jeffers; and her
grandchildren, Jersey Hamilton, Treylen Hamilton, Braxton Hamilton, Isabella Hamilton,
Jayden Hamilton, Avery Hamilton, Charleigh Hamilton, Andi Hamilton, Archie
Hamilton, Giuliana Lepore, and Naomi Lepore;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
Section 1. The Senate extends its deepest sympathy upon the passing of Denise
Lane "Deni" Hamilton, and expresses heartfelt condolences to all her family, friends, and

community.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving
memory of Denise Lane "Deni" Hamilton.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this
Resolution to Senator Matt Nunn for delivery to the family.
