SENATE RESOLUTION

1     WHEREAS, The 2026 Regular Session of the Sixty-ninth Legislature
2 is drawing to a close; and
3     WHEREAS, It is necessary to provide for the completion of the
4 work of the Senate after its adjournment and during the interim
5 period between the close of the 2026 Regular Session of the Sixty-
6 ninth Legislature and the convening of the next regular session;
7     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Senate Facilities and
8 Operations Committee shall have full authority and direction over the
9 authorization and execution of any contracts or subcontracts that
10 necessitate the expenditure of Senate appropriations and may further
11 delegate such authority and direction to the Secretary of the Senate
12 for contracts that are routine or expected, subject to all applicable
13 budget controls and limitations; and
14     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate may, as
15 she deems appropriate, authorize travel for which members and staff
16 may receive their actual necessary expenses, and such per diem as may
17 be authorized by law, subject to all applicable budget controls and
18 limitations, to be paid upon receipt of their vouchers out of funds
19 appropriated for legislative expenses; and
20     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate be, and
21 hereby is, authorized to retain such employees as she may deem
22 necessary and that said employees be allowed such rate of pay,

1 subject to all applicable budget controls and limitations, as
2 the Secretary of the Senate shall deem proper; and
3     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate be,
4 and hereby is, authorized and directed to make out and execute
5 the necessary vouchers upon which warrants for legislative
6 expenses and expenditures shall be drawn from funds provided
7 therefor; and
8     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate, in
9 consultation with the Chair and Ranking Member of the Facilities
10 and Operations Committee, be, and hereby is, authorized to
11 approve written requests by standing committees to meet during
12 the interim period; and
13     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate be,
14 and hereby is, authorized and directed to have printed a copy of
15 the Senate Journals of the 2026 Regular Session of the Sixty-
16 ninth Legislature; and
17     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Majority Leader is
18 authorized to create special committees as may be necessary to
19 carry out the functions of the Senate in an orderly manner and
20 appoint members thereto with the approval of the Facilities and
21 Operations Committee; and
22     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the use of Senate facilities is
23 permitted upon such terms as the Secretary of the Senate shall
24 deem proper.
