Wilson, and J. Wilson1 WHEREAS, Senator Judy Warnick has devoted nearly two decades to2 exemplary service in the Washington State Legislature, first elected3 to the House of Representatives in 2007 and later to the Senate in4 2015; and5 WHEREAS, She quickly demonstrated her leadership and ability to6 guide and inspire her colleagues, serving first as Vice Chair of the7 Senate Republican Caucus beginning in 2017 and later assuming the8 role of Chair in 2021, while faithfully representing the constituents9 of the 13th Legislative District as a model of civic advocacy; and10 WHEREAS, Throughout her legislative career, Senator Warnick has11 been widely recognized for her stewardship of agriculture and natural12 resource policy, assuming the chairmanship of the Senate Agriculture,13 Water & Rural Economic Development Committee upon entering the Senate14 in 2015 and championing the interests of farmers, ranchers, small15 business owners, and families who form the backbone of Washington's16 agricultural economy, bringing rural voices to Olympia; and17 WHEREAS, Having grown up on a dairy farm and later operating a18 small farm and business of her own, Senator Warnick has brought19 invaluable firsthand experience to her work in the Legislature,20 grounding her decisions in practical knowledge and thoughtful insight21 that support agricultural sustainability, rural economic opportunity,22 water resource management, and small business growth; andp. 1 87021 WHEREAS, Senator Warnick has also provided leadership2 through service on key committees and boards, including Ways &3 Means, Human Services, Higher Education & Workforce Development,4 the Joint Long-Term Services & Supports Trust Commission, and5 numerous other task forces and advisory bodies, advancing6 legislation related to public safety, workforce training,7 economic development, and water security; and8 WHEREAS, Senator Warnick has demonstrated a long-standing9 commitment to strengthening communities through her active10 involvement in organizations, such as 4-H, the Grant County11 Fair, Backcountry Horsemen of Washington, and several other12 civic and professional associations; and13 WHEREAS, Senator Warnick's long-standing passion for women14 empowerment has not faded since her prestigious recognition as a15 Woman of Achievement three decades ago, and she continues to16 drive social change today with her tireless advocacy for youth17 and women's sports, as well as her dedication to protecting18 safety, including efforts to promote fairness, safety, and19 opportunity in women's athletics, reflecting a commitment to20 expanding opportunities for future generations; and21 WHEREAS, Senator Warnick's leadership and accomplishments22 have been recognized through numerous honors, including23 Legislator of the Year awards from the Association of Washington24 Business, Cattle Producers of Washington, and the Washington25 State Potato Commission, as well as Friend of the Farm Bureau,26 NFIB's Guardian of Small Business, Moses Lake Boys and Girls27 Club's Champion of Youth, the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce's28 President's Award, and other honors reflecting her enduring29 impact on the state's communities, economy, and public policy;30 and31 WHEREAS, Senator Warnick has earned the respect of32 colleagues across the aisle for her collaborative approach,33 principled leadership, and steadfast dedication to the people of34 Washington;35 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Washington State36 Senate honor, celebrate, and express its deep appreciation for37 Senator Judy Warnick's distinguished service and her manyp. 2 87021 contributions to the people and communities of Washington State;2 and3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be4 immediately transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate to5 Senator Judy Warnick and her family as a token of the Senate's6 respect and gratitude for her dedicated public service.7 I, Sarah Bannister, Secretary of the Senate,8 do hereby certify that this is a true and9 correct copy of Senate Resolution 8702,10 adopted by the Senate11 March 11, 202612 SARAH BANNISTER13 Secretary of the Senatep. 3 8702
