5 FORD FOR WINNING THE 2026 ALABAMA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC
6 ASSOCIATION 4A BOYS BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

8WHEREAS, highest commendations are herein proudly
9 presented to the Fairfield High Preparatory School Boys
10 Basketball Team on winning the 2026 Alabama High School
11 Athletic Association (AHSAA) Class 4A Boys Basketball State
12 Championship; and
13WHEREAS, the Fairfield Tigers defeated Ashville 65-42
14 on March 6, 2026, at Legacy Arena; the team dominated early
15 in the game with a 15-2 lead and closed with a 16-4 run in
16 the final period; despite a brief third-quarter surge by
17 Ashville, Fairfield's superior rebounding and 22 points of
18 turnovers solidified the victory; this marks the team's
19 third state title since 2020 under the leadership of Head
20 Coach Maurice Ford; and
21WHEREAS, standout athletes included Milton Jones, who
22 led Fairfield with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked
23 shots and earned Class 4A state tournament MVP honors; Eric
24 Williams, who added 17 points and four assists; and Jalen
25 Kidd, who had 17 points and 13 rebounds; and
26WHEREAS, the talented athletes on the Fairfield High
27 Preparatory Championship Basketball Team are Jabarion
28 Williams, Dujuan McKinney, Eric Williams, Milton Jones,

29 Carlos Scroggins, Jr., Jayden Johnson, Justin Murray, Corey
30 White, Jr., Jalen Kidd, and Antonio Combe; and
31WHEREAS, the exemplary coaching and support staff
32 includes Head Coach Maurice Ford; Associate Head Coach
33 Randal Smith; Assistant Coaches Patrick Handley, Travis
34 Harper, Javon Duncan, Maurice Lynn, and Joseph Martin;
35 Managers Jaden Robinson and Jakiya Rudolph; Director of
36 Operations Tynesha Speights; and Bookkeeper Kanidra
37 Stringer; and
38WHEREAS, Head Coach Maurice Ford has over 20 years of
39 coaching experience at Fairfield High Preparatory School;
40 under his leadership, Fairfield has become a dominant force
41 in Alabama high school basketball, achieving multiple state
42 titles; his teams are known for disciplined defense, strong
43 rebounding, and effective teamwork, reflecting Coach Ford's
44 coaching philosophy; and
45WHEREAS, the Fairfield Boys Basketball Team's success
46 is a tremendous source of pride for the members' families,
47 classmates, teachers, administrators, and the entire
48 community, whose dedication and support have played a
49 crucial role in motivating the team; now therefore,
50BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
51 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the Fairfield High Preparatory
52 School 2026 Boys Basketball Team and coaches are highly
53 honored and commended on winning the AHSAA Class 4A Boys
54 Basketball State Championship Title, and we hereby dedicate
55 this resolution to them in utmost admiration, along with
56 best wishes for continued success.
