1AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 38:2225.2.6(A), relative to public works contracts; to provide for
3design build contacts; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5Section 1. R.S. 38:2225.2.6(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
6§2225.2.6. Design-build contracts; authorized use by airports; air traffic control
7tower and hangar
8A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, a public
9airport may use the design-build project delivery method to contract for construction
10and design-build of an air traffic control tower or hangar development and
11redevelopment project when deemed in the public interest, beneficial to the entity,
12and in accordance with the procedures set forth by law. vertical facilities on airport
13property, excluding passenger terminal facilities at commercial service airports
14and equipment, when deemed in the public interest, beneficial to the entity, and
15in accordance with the procedures set forth by law. These facilities could
16include but are not limited to education or workforce development facilities,
17airport air traffic control towers, parking garages, and aircraft hangars.
