h971/introduced.txtLEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHOSixty-eighth Legislature Second Regular Session - 2026IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVESHOUSE BILL NO. 971BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE1AN ACT2 RELATING TO THE APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL; APPRO-3 PRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR4 FISCAL YEAR 2027; DIRECTING USE OF THE CONSUMER PROTECTION FUND FOR5 FISCAL YEAR 2027; APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE OFFICE OF THE6 ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026; DIRECTING USE OF THE CONSUMER7 PROTECTION FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND8 PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATES.9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:10 SECTION 1. In addition to any other appropriation provided by law,11 there is hereby appropriated to the Office of the Attorney General the12 following amounts to be expended according to the designated programs for13 personnel costs from the Consumer Protection Fund for the period July 1,14 2026, through June 30, 2027:15 FOR:16 State Legal Services $817,00017 Internet Crimes Against Children 63,00018 TOTAL $880,00019 SECTION 2. USE OF CONSUMER PROTECTION FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 2027.20 Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the appro-21 priation provided in Section 1 of this act is hereby appropriated for the22 furtherance of the Attorney General's duties and activities pursuant to23 Idaho law for the period July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.24 SECTION 3. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chap-25 ter 196, Laws of 2025, and any other appropriation provided by law, there26 is hereby appropriated to the Office of the Attorney General the following27 amounts to be expended according to the designated programs for personnel28 costs from the Consumer Protection Fund for the period July 1, 2025, through29 June 30, 2026:30 FOR:31 State Legal Services $817,00032 Internet Crimes Against Children 63,00033 TOTAL $880,00034 SECTION 4. USE OF CONSUMER PROTECTION FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026.35 Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the appro-36 priation provided in Section 3 of this act is hereby appropriated for the21 furtherance of the Attorney General's duties and activities pursuant to2 Idaho law for the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.3 SECTION 5. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby4 declared to exist, Sections 3 and 4 of this act shall be in full force and ef-5 fect on and after passage and approval, and Sections 1 and 2 of this act shall6 be in full force and effect on and after July 1, 2026.
