1A RESOLUTION recognizing April 28th, 2026, as Pay It Forward Day.
2WHEREAS, the objective of the "pay it forward" concept is to promote community
3 spirit through acts of kindness; and
4WHEREAS, "pay it forward" is a worldwide effort supported by people in more
5 than 85 countries on six continents; and
6WHEREAS, together, the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, its counties,
7 its cities, and the citizens of other states and countries, can make a difference by creating
8 positive change in our cities, counties, states, countries, and world one deed at a time;
9NOW, THEREFORE,
10 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
11 Kentucky:
12Section 1.       The Senate hereby recognizes April 28th, 2026, as Pay It Forward
13 Day.
14Section 2. The Senate furthermore urges the citizens of the Commonwealth of
15 Kentucky to "pay it forward" when opportunity presents itself, knowing that such efforts
16 have manifold effects in promoting community spirit, creating positive change, and
17 improving the day-to-day lives of not only the citizens of this Commonwealth and the
18 United States of America, but also of the citizens of the world.
19Section 3.        The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this
20 Resolution to Senator Rick Girdler.
