No. R-312. House concurrent resolution congratulating the 2026 Bellows Free
Academy-St. Albans Bobwhites Division I championship boys’ basketball team.

   Offered by Representatives Luneau of St. Albans City, Bartley of Fairfax, Branagan of
Georgia, Brigham of St. Albans Town, Demar of Enosburgh, Dickinson of St. Albans
Town, Gregoire of Fairfield, Hango of Berkshire, Laroche of Franklin, Oliver of Sheldon,
and Walker of Swanton
   Whereas, for 39 years, the Bellows Free Academy (BFA)-St. Albans boys’ basketball
team had longed for championship glory that seemed eternally elusive, and
   Whereas, the opening of the 2025–2026 season offered another chance to achieve this
long-sought-after goal, and although the Bobwhites garnered a sixth seed for playoff
competition, not the most encouraging indicator of success, BFA-St. Albans persevered
and earned a championship game berth against the top-ranked Rice Memorial High
School Green Knights, and
   Whereas, before a large crowd at the University of Vermont’s Patrick Gymnasium, the
Bobwhites won the opening tip, and despite initially trailing, BFA-St. Albans quickly
displayed its basketball savvy, surging ahead to an 18–12 lead at the end of the first
quarter, continuing forward to a 30–20 halftime advantage, maintaining the momentum
41–34 at the third quarter’s conclusion, and despite a Green Knight’s fourth-quarter
drive, winning the game 54–48, and writing a bright new page in the school’s athletics
history, and
   Whereas, this amazing Bobwhites team consisted of Lucas Robert, Tripp Rabtoy,
Isaac Branon, Max Sweeney, Max Alberico, Michael Lavallee, Sullivan Stebbins, Levi
Walters, Ryan Lockerby, Anthony Fontaine, Ryan Munger, and Kobe Simpson, and
  Whereas, Head Coach Tristan Menard and assistant coaches Shawn Earl and Sean
Sweeney were extremely proud of the Bobwhites, now therefore be it
   Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
  That the General Assembly congratulates the 2026 Bellows Free Academy-St. Albans
Bobwhites Division I championship boys’ basketball team, and be it further
  Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to
BFA-St. Albans.
