Commending William H. Parrish IV.
WHEREAS, William H. Parrish IV has made a lifetime of contributions to young people through his work with Scouting America and Scouts BSA Troop 400, sponsored by St. James's Episcopal Church Richmond; and
WHEREAS, William Parrish began his service with Troop 400 in Richmond as a Scout in the 1960s and has been involved with the troop since that time; and
WHEREAS, William Parrish has served as both an Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster of Troop 400 for many years, acting as a role model for Scouts and troop leadership alike through his dedication to the Scout Law and the Scout Oath; and
WHEREAS, William Parrish has given generously of his time, talent, and resources for the benefit of all levels of Scouting America, including within the Heart of Virginia Council and at the national level; and
WHEREAS, William Parrish has mentored and shared his knowledge, wit, and wisdom with generations of Scouts and helped numerous young people achieve the rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, William Parrish will continue to serve as an inspiration to all those Scouts, Scoutmasters, and volunteers who through the years have benefited from his leadership, friendship, and guidance; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of the contributions made by William Parrish, Troop 400 will make a donation in his honor to the Scouting America James E. West Fellowship; Troop 400 will also establish The William H. Parrish IV Fund that will be used to provide support for the Scouts in Troop 400 who attend Philmont Scout Ranch; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That William H. Parrish IV hereby be commended for his service to Scouting America and Scouts BSA Troop 400; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to William H. Parrish IV as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his legacy of achievements on behalf of young people.
