sr45/introduced.txt1STATE OF OKLAHOMA122nd Session of the 60th Legislature (2026)23 SENATE3 RESOLUTION 45 By: McIntosh44556AS INTRODUCED67A Resolution expressing formal opposition to the7proposed Inola aluminum smelter project; and8directing distribution.899101011 WHEREAS, the proposed Inola aluminum smelter would constitute1112 one of the largest industrial developments ever proposed in this1213 region and is expected to create significant long-term impacts on1314 Oklahoma and neighboring states; and1415 WHEREAS, this project raises substantial concerns regarding1516 potential emissions of fluorides, particulate matter, sulfur1617 dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and other smelting-related byproducts that1718 may affect public health, property use, agriculture, and quality of1819 life; and1920 WHEREAS, local government has a duty to exercise caution before2021 supporting any project that may create long-term burdens on roads,2122 bridges, fire protection, emergency medical response, land use,2223 agriculture, water resources, and residential growth patterns.232424Req.
