ENROLLED SENATE
RESOLUTION NO. 46 By: Paxton
A Resolution relating to the protection of the
property and supplies of the Senate and duties of the
President Pro Tempore during the 2026 legislative
interim; authorizing employment of necessary
personnel; restricting use of Senate offices and
Senate Chamber during the interim except with the
consent of the President Pro Tempore; authorizing
needed repairs to space in the Capitol under the
control of the Senate and purchase of needed
furnishings and equipment therefor; authorizing
President Pro Tempore to appoint members of the
Senate to interim committees; authorizing President
Pro Tempore to approve claims for reimbursement
incurred by members and employees of the Senate
during the interim; and providing for cumulative
powers.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 60TH OKLAHOMA
LEGISLATURE:
SECTION 1. The President Pro Tempore is hereby authorized to
hire necessary employees to conduct the business and protect the
property of the Senate during the 2026 legislative interim.
SECTION 2. No private organization, state executive agency or
department, or the employees thereof shall be permitted to use the
Senate Chamber, meeting rooms, or offices during the interim without
the consent of the President Pro Tempore.
SECTION 3. The President Pro Tempore is hereby authorized to
provide for needed repairs and renovations to space in the Capitol
under the control of the Senate including the Senate Chamber,
offices, equipment, and furnishings in such space, and to purchase
needed equipment, supplies, furniture, furnishings, and fixtures for
such space, and to approve claims therefor.
SECTION 4. The President Pro Tempore is hereby authorized to
appoint members of the Senate to interim committees.
SECTION 5. The President Pro Tempore is hereby authorized to
approve claims of members and employees of the Senate for
reimbursement of expenses incurred while engaged in official
business during the interim as directed by the President Pro Tempore
according to law.
SECTION 6. The powers herein conferred shall be in addition to
and not in substitution for any other power conferred by law or
rule.
