A house RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR KENNEDI JETER FOR HER
OUTSTANDING ADVOCACY AND DEDICATED SERVICE IN PROMOTING MENTAL HEALTH
AWARENESS.
Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to recognize Kennedi
Jeter for her exemplary leadership and commitment to advancing mental health
awareness; and
Whereas, Kennedi Jeter
is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate, where she earned a
degree in Mass Communications; and
Whereas, she has been
an active participant in Miss America for the past five years, one of the nation's
leading providers of scholarship assistance, which empowers young women to
champion meaningful community initiatives; and
Whereas, Kennedi
Jeter's platform, Mending Minds Meets Ministry, is inspired by the Second
Epistle to Timothy 1:7 and is dedicated to promoting mental health education, increasing
awareness, and expanding access to vital resources in communities, schools, and
faith-based organizations; and
Whereas, her platform is
deeply rooted in her personal journey, including the loss of her mother to leukemia
at the age of twelve, an experience that led her to confront high-functioning
anxiety and depression; and
Whereas, over the past
five years, through Mending Minds Meets Ministry, she has impacted more than
25,000 students, educators, parents, and faith leaders by sharing her
testimony, raising awareness about mental health issues, identifying signs of
mental illness, and promoting effective coping strategies; and
Whereas, her work strives
to break the stigma surrounding mental illness and to normalize conversations
about mental health in schools, churches, and communities, encouraging
individuals to seek help, healing, and hope; and
Whereas, her efforts
serve as an inspiration to others to engage in open dialogue, support one
another, and promote mental wellness for all. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the
South Carolina House of Representatives,
by this resolution, recognize and honor Kennedi Jeter for her outstanding advocacy
and dedicated service in promoting mental health awareness.
Be it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Kennedi Jeter.
