hr226/enrolled.txtENROLLED2026 Regular SessionHOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 226BY REPRESENTATIVE WALTERSA RESOLUTIONTo commend Treone Williams-Larvadain on her retirement after thirty years of serving thisstate and its citizens as a member of the Louisiana State Police and the AssumptionParish Sheriff's Office.WHEREAS, Treone Williams-Larvadain retired from the Louisiana State Police afterserving for thirty years in law enforcement under six different governors; andWHEREAS, her first history-making moment was announced by Governor John BelEdwards on January 21st, as she commanded the Protective Services Unit; andWHEREAS, over the course of her career, she held a wide range of executive,administrative, operational, training, and investigative roles with the Louisiana State Police,highlighting her versatility and expertise; andWHEREAS, Treone Williams-Larvadain's career with the Louisiana State Policebegan in Troop C in March 2006 and continued with Protective Services in 2008; andWHEREAS, she worked in Protective Services from 2008 to 2011; andWHEREAS, she was promoted to sergeant in the Bureau of Investigations in 2012and also served as an adjunct instructor at the training academy, later becoming a P.O.S.T.Master Instructor; andWHEREAS, she was promoted to lieutenant in Internal Affairs in 2018; andWHEREAS, also in 2018, she made history with her daughter, Tiah, as the first-evermother and daughter to actively serve in the Louisiana State Police at the same time; andWHEREAS, in 2020, Governor John Bel Edwards posted, "I am happy to announceCaptain Treone Larvadain has been promoted to lead the Protective Services division,becoming the first African-American female captain in State Police history"; andPage 1 of 3HR NO. 226 ENROLLEDWHEREAS, the Protective Services Unit is a unique section that allocates personnelbased on the needs of the current governor; andWHEREAS, as a part of the Protective Services Unit, her primary responsibility wasto ensure the safety and security of the governor and his immediate family; andWHEREAS, in 2022, Treone Williams-Larvadain later earned the rank of Major,overseeing the Criminal Investigations Division statewide and ultimately was appointeddeputy superintendent over the Bureau of Investigations by former Colonel Lamar Davis,which was somewhat of a full circle moment as she once served as a sergeant in the bureau;andWHEREAS, she led all plainclothes State Police operations, assuming responsibilityfor the Criminal Investigations Division, the Gaming Enforcement Division, the ForceInvestigations Unit, and the Special Investigations Division; andWHEREAS, on March 15, 2024, Treone Williams-Larvadain graduated from the FBINational Academy (Session #289), a ten-week leadership course; andWHEREAS, as a woman, Treone Williams-Larvadain has proven that there is noposition a female cannot obtain; andWHEREAS, Treone Williams-Larvadain has stated, "I always wanted to give backand help people and my goal has always been to impact lives and change behaviors"; andWHEREAS, as the first African-American female captain, she also stated that shehopes to inspire other women and young girls; andWHEREAS, she has the following message for women and young girls: "You canattain any goal that you want to accomplish, no matter what the naysayers may say; you cando what you want to do"; andWHEREAS, throughout Treone Williams-Larvadain's career and life, she has beenconsistently led by the Lord; andWHEREAS, Treone Williams-Larvadain proudly worships at First Israel BaptistChurch where she is also a member of the inspirational choir, giving glory to God throughsong; andWHEREAS, it is appropriate that a sincere and heartfelt measure of appreciation beexpressed to Treone Williams-Larvadain for her remarkable term of professional service,including using her talents and resources to lead by example, with ethics and integrity; andPage 2 of 3HR NO. 226 ENROLLEDWHEREAS, Treone Williams-Larvadain served the Louisiana State Police, hercommunity, her parish, and her state with pride and honor and it is her unwaveringdedication to excellence that allowed her to climb the ranks and achieve many firsts that notonly broke barriers but wrote the blueprint for what others can achieve through hard work.THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of theLegislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Treone Williams-Larvadain on herretirement from the Louisiana State Police and for exemplifying service-oriented leadershipthroughout her career.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislatureof Louisiana does hereby express its gratitude and sincere appreciation to Treone Williams-Larvadain for her dedicated service to the people of Louisiana for a thirty-year lawenforcement career with the Louisiana State Police and the Assumption Parish Sheriff'sOffice.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislatureof Louisiana wishes Treone Williams-Larvadain well in all of her future endeavors.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted toTreone Williams-Larvadain.SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVESPage 3 of 3
