A house RESOLUTION
to recognize and honor Jimmy Crosby, a dedicated
educator in Richland School District Two for more than three decades and to
express the deepest appreciation for his commitment to excellence and to his
students.
Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives value the work of dedicated
teachers in the Palmetto State, like Jimmy Crosby, who labor with devotion to
prepare students to take their place in their communities as productive
citizens who can lead and participate; and
Whereas, Mr. Crosby has
served not only as an educator, but also as a mentor and advocate for students,
and his impact has been felt across the Richland School District Two community
for more than three decades; and
Whereas, a native of
Orangeburg and proud alumnus of the University of South Carolina, Mr. Crosby
devoted thirty-one years of teaching both special education and social studies
with compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment; and
Whereas, throughout his
career, he served students and families at Ridge View High School, Westwood
High School, Lake Carolina Elementary School, and Bookman Road Elementary
School; and
Whereas, known for his
steady encouragement and genuine care for others, Mr. Crosby consistently went
beyond the classroom to support students academically, emotionally, and
personally. His ability to see potential in young people and help them rise to
new heights left a lasting impression on countless students over the years; and
Whereas, together with
his beloved wife of thirty-seven years, Stephanie Crosby, a dedicated employee
of Bookman Road Elementary School, he built a life centered around education,
service, and family. Together they reared their devoted son, Jordan Crosby, a
graduate of Ridge View High School; and
Whereas, after a
lifetime of service in education, Mr. Crosby will leave a legacy reflected not
only in the schools where he taught, but also in the many lives he changed
through his kindness, leadership, and belief in the potential of every student;
and
Whereas, the South
Carolina House of Representatives is thankful for the work and dedication of
Jimmy Crosby and the beneficial impact that his life and career have had on
generations of students who are succeeding because of his care and the value he
has placed on their lives. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the
South Carolina House of Representatives,
by this resolution, recognize and honor Jimmy Crosby, a dedicated educator in Richland
School District Two for more than three decades, and express the deepest
appreciation for his commitment to excellence and to his students.
Be it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Jimmy Crosby.
