BY REPRESENTATIVES BAYHAM AND GLORIOSO
A RESOLUTION
To designate July 27 through August 2, 2026, as Tau Kappa Epsilon Week in New Orleans.
WHEREAS, Tau Kappa Epsilon was founded in 1899 at Illinois Wesleyan
University in Bloomington, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, Tau Kappa Epsilon is the largest fraternity in North America with more
than two hundred twenty active chapters; and
WHEREAS, Tau Kappa Epsilon was founded on the principles of love, charity, and
esteem, and the fraternity focuses on building better men who work to build a better world;
and
WHEREAS, Tau Kappa Epsilon will gather in the city of New Orleans for its Sixty-
Third Biennial Conclave to conduct the business of the fraternity, including education,
legislation, community impact, and leadership sessions; and
WHEREAS, the state of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans are proud to welcome
Tekes from across the world in celebration of the history and future potential of excellence
of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate the week of July 27 through August 2, 2026,
as Tau Kappa Epsilon Week in New Orleans and does hereby extend best wishes for success
to the organization and its members.
