BY REPRESENTATIVES FIRMENT, DEWITT, MCFARLAND, SCHAMERHORN,
AND WYBLE
A RESOLUTION
To commend Margaret "Mimi" Stoker on the occasion of her induction into the Louisiana
4-H Hall of Fame.
WHEREAS, Margaret "Mimi" Stoker holds bachelor's and master's degrees from
Northwestern State University, and she completed post-graduate studies with an emphasis
on environmental science at Louisiana State University; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Stoker worked for the LSU AgCenter for thirty-two years in a
variety of roles, including as a 4-H agent in Rapides and Tangipahoa Parishes, a home
economist in Sabine and Natchitoches Parishes, and an environmental agent for Northwest
Louisiana; she developed, presented, and administered the Environmental Educational
Program for a thirteen-parish region and served as president of the LSU Extension Agents
Professional Association; and
WHEREAS, Mimi Stoker served the Department of Environmental Quality as a
watershed coordinator during the Cane River Watershed Grant Project and served four years
as an elected member of the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury; she also worked as a
hospitality management instructor at the Sabine Valley campus of Central Louisiana
Technical Community College; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Stoker is a former office manager and current parenting instructor
at the Women's Resource Center; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Stoker has been a member of the Natchitoches Lions Club since
2007; she serves the club as an executive board member of the Louisiana Lions Children's
Camp and Lions Eye Foundation, and she is a Melvin Jones Fellow; and

WHEREAS, Mimi Stoker was recognized by NAEHE as a state and national award
winner for water quality education; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Stoker has shared forty years of marriage with Chuck Stoker; she
has two children, Nicole and Kristopher; five grandchildren, Colt, Farrah, Chase, Evan, and
Claire; and two great-grandchildren, River and Foster; she is a member of P.E.O. Chapter I
and First Baptist Church in Natchitoches; and
WHEREAS, Margaret "Mimi" Stoker is most deserving of recognition for her
exceptional service to the state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Margaret "Mimi" Stoker on the occasion of
her induction into the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame; does hereby express enduring
appreciation for her decades of service to the state of Louisiana; and does hereby extend
sincere wishes that she remain prosperous in all of her endeavors.
