BY REPRESENTATIVE COATES
A RESOLUTION
To commend Bella Cervantes, founder of Brave Bella Bead Co., for her courage,
entrepreneurial spirit, advocacy for childhood cancer awareness, and positive impact
on the state of Louisiana and beyond.
WHEREAS, Bella Cervantes of Hammond, Louisiana, is a remarkable young
entrepreneur, childhood cancer survivor, and inspirational role model whose story has
touched countless lives across the state and nation; and
WHEREAS, at the age of two, Bella was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare form
of childhood eye cancer affecting only a small number of children each year, and she
courageously underwent life-saving treatment that resulted in the loss of her right eye; and
WHEREAS, through unwavering faith, determination, and perseverance, Bella
overcame tremendous obstacles; she is widely recognized as "Brave Bella" and inspires
others through her resilience and positive spirit; and
WHEREAS, Bella founded Brave Bella Bead Co. with the initial goal of saving
money for braces, but her business quickly grew into a mission-driven company dedicated
to spreading hope, encouragement, and awareness for childhood cancer; and
WHEREAS, Brave Bella Bead Co. creates handcrafted jewelry that is shipped across
the country and internationally and carries the company message: "Your Style. Your
Impact."; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the proceeds from Brave Bella Bead Co. sales supports
childhood cancer awareness and research, including causes connected to St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital, where Bella continues to receive care; and
WHEREAS, Bella's inspiring testimony, entrepreneurial success, and commitment
to helping others have made her a beacon of hope for children and families facing adversity;
and

WHEREAS, Bella continues to use her platform to encourage others to never give
up on their dreams and to remain faithful and determined through life's challenges; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting to recognize Bella Cervantes for her exceptional courage,
leadership, compassion, and service to her community.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Bella Cervantes, founder of Brave Bella
Bead Co., for her inspirational example of resilience and entrepreneurship and does hereby
extend best wishes for continued success, health, and happiness in all her future endeavors.
