A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Renita Williams Thomas, MSN, RN, upon being named the
2026 Executive of the Year by the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report and to
recognize her exceptional leadership, compassionate service, and enduring
contributions to medically fragile children and families throughout Louisiana.
WHEREAS, she was recognized at the annual Baton Rouge Business Awards & Hall
of Fame gala for her mission-driven leadership and outstanding advocacy for medically
fragile children; and
WHEREAS, Renita Williams Thomas began her professional journey as a pediatric
nurse, and inspired by both her medical experience and her role as a mother of five, she
identified a critical gap in care for medically fragile children and their families in the Capital
Region; and
WHEREAS, driven by a deep commitment to serving and supporting vulnerable
children and their families, Renita founded "In Loving Arms Healthcare for Kids", a
pediatric medical daycare center dedicated to providing specialized, compassionate, and
skilled care in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children with complex
medical needs; and
WHEREAS, through her visionary leadership as president and chief executive
officer, "In Loving Arms Healthcare for Kids" has become an invaluable resource to
countless Louisiana families, easing the immense physical, emotional, and financial burdens
placed upon working parents and caregivers while ensuring children receive the attentive
care they deserve; and
WHEREAS, Renita Williams Thomas' unwavering integrity, profound compassion,
and steadfast devotion to improving the lives of children continue to inspire colleagues,
caregivers, families, and the broader community; and
WHEREAS, she has demonstrated an abiding commitment to community service,
including serving on the Baton Rouge Community College Foundation Board, where she

actively supports educational advancement and opportunities for future generations; and
WHEREAS, a distinguished alumna of Southern University School of Nursing,
Renita Williams Thomas earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1997 and a Master of
Science in Nursing in 2012, exemplifying the university's enduring legacy of producing
leaders grounded in excellence, compassion, and service; and
WHEREAS, her remarkable achievement of "2026 Executive of the Year", awarded
by the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, serves as a powerful testament to what
purposeful leadership, dedication, and vision can accomplish in service to others.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Renita Williams Thomas, MSN, RN, upon being
named the 2026 Executive of the Year by the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report and
does hereby recognize her extraordinary leadership, compassionate care, and steadfast
commitment to medically fragile children and their families.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Renita Williams Thomas, MSN, RN.
