sb4669/introduced-in-senate.txt119 S4669 IS: To exempt stinger-steered combinations from a requirement to include warning flags on projecting loads.U.S. Senate2026-06-03text/xmlENPursuant to Title 17 Section 105 of the United States Code, this file is not subject to copyright protection and is in the public domain.II119th CONGRESS 2d SessionS. 4669IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATESJune 3, 2026Mrs. Fischer (for herself and Mr. Peters ) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and TransportationA BILLTo exempt stinger-steered combinations from a requirement to include warning flags on projecting loads.1.Exemption of certain automobile transporters from requirement to include warning flags on projecting loads(a)In generalBeginning on the date of enactment of this Act, section 393.87 of title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (or a successor regulation), shall not apply to a stinger-steered combination (as defined in section 658.5 of title 23, Code of Federal Regulations (or a successor regulation)), that is transporting assembled highway vehicles.(b)Revision(1)In generalAs soon as practicable after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Transportation shall revise section 393.87 of title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, to exempt from the requirements of that regulation stinger-steered combinations (as defined in section 658.5 of title 23, Code of Federal Regulations (or a successor regulation)), that are transporting assembled highway vehicles.(2)ExemptionNotwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of Transportation shall carry out paragraph (1) without engaging in notice and comment or any other formal rulemaking process.
