                                A RESOLUTION
1 Recognizing and commending Jennifer Blakey upon the grand occasion of her retirement;
2 and for other purposes.
3 WHEREAS, Jennifer Blakey has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours
4 of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community, as evidenced
5 dramatically by her more than 36 years of superlative service to the youth of this state; and
6 WHEREAS, during her distinguished tenure, Jennifer Blakey has nurtured the minds and
7 fostered the academic development of countless elementary students in both DeKalb and
8 Cherokee counties; and
9 WHEREAS, her dedication to the youth of this state has been recognized through numerous
10 awards and honors, including being selected twice as Teacher of the Year; and
11 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high
12 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she has established a brilliant
13 reputation of renown throughout Georgia for her proficiency and dependability; and

14 WHEREAS, Jennifer Blakey has served with honor and distinction, and her vision and
15 unyielding commitment to education will be sorely missed upon the occasion of her
16 retirement; and
17 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
18 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately honored.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
20 the members of this body recognize and commend Jennifer Blakey for her dedication to
21 excellence in her career and congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement.
22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to
24 Jennifer Blakey.
