Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A house RESOLUTIONTO RECOGNIZE ANDCOMMEND THE HONORABLE LUKE RANKIN OF LAURENS COUNTY FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TOTHE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ON BEHALF OF HIS CONSTITUENTS AND THE CITIZENS OFSOUTH CAROLINA AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTUREENDEAVORS.Whereas, the members ofthe South Carolina House of Representatives learned with sincere regret that LukeRankin will depart from the House of Representatives at the conclusion of hiscurrent term; andWhereas, born inGreenville on August 16, 1997, he is the son of Kari Joy and Gregory Rankin;andWhereas, RepresentativeRankin graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2020, where heearned a bachelor of science degree; andWhereas, he served onthe Laurens County Council from 2020 to 2024 and served as the Laurens CountyRepublican Party chairman from 2021 to 2024; andWhereas, he married hisbeloved wife, Hope Marie, on April 27, 2024, and together they are rearing a daughter,Elliana Mae Rankin. When away from his duties in the House of Representatives,he lives with his family in Laurens and works as a health insurance advisor;andWhereas, RepresentativeRankin has faithfully represented the citizens of District 14 in Laurens Countyin the House of Representatives since his election in November of 2024, servingon the Agriculture, Natural Resources, Environmental Affairs Committee, and theRules Committee; andWhereas, the members ofthe South Carolina House of Representatives will miss the keen and impassionedservice that Luke Rankin, their friend and colleague, has given to the House ofRepresentatives. The members thank him for his dedicated service to the peopleof District 14 and extend their best wishes for success and fulfillment in theyears to come.
