        HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 156
        DESIGNATING SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2026, AS "GFWC INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE UNITED TO END DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE" IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE.
        WHEREAS, the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Delaware is a 129 year old 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer community service organization; and
        WHEREAS, the GFWC Delaware has over 800 club members in 20 clubs in all three counties, with volunteers serving communities throughout Delaware; and
        WHEREAS, the GFWC has over 60,000 club members throughout the United States of America plus international affiliate clubs; and
        WHEREAS, the GFWC Delaware is an active state member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs located at 1734 N. Street NW, Washington, DC; and
        WHEREAS, the GFWC international organization has designated Saturday, September 26, 2026, as the GFWC Delaware Day of Service, for the state organizations and club members to unite for a single purpose: taking meaningful action to help end domestic and sexual violence; and
        WHEREAS, through hands-on, action-focused projects, GFWC clubs can provide direct support to shelters and service organizations, assist survivors and families, and help meet critical community needs; and
        WHEREAS, when clubs register to participate, they become part of a global movement demonstrating the power of volunteers working together to create real and lasting change
        NOW, THEREFORE:
        BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the 153rd  General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Senate concurring therein, designates Saturday, September 26, 2026, as “GFWC International Day of Service United to End Domestic and Sexual Violence” in the State of Delaware.
