A house RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE Reese Stoney, Miss
Clarendon, AND TO COMMEND THE EXCEPTIONAL DISCIPLINE, ASPIRATIONS, AND TALENT
THAT HAVE ENABLED HER TO REPRESENT Clarendon WITH DIGNITY AND POISE.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives
are pleased to learn that Reese Stoney, named Miss Clarendon on March 23, 2026,
is serving as an excellent ambassador during her reign; and
Whereas, possessing both talent and intelligence, she competed and
was crowned as Miss Clarendon; and
Whereas, she graduated from Berkeley Center for the Arts at Goose
Creek High School in 2021 and earned a bachelor's degree in 2025 and a master's
degree in 2026, both from Clemson University. She is currently enrolled in
dental school at High Point University in North Carolina; and
Whereas, at the Miss South Carolina Pageant, Miss Stoney won the
nonfinalist fitness award, which was awarded because she had the highest
fitness score among all of the nonfinalist contestants; and
Whereas, she is grateful for the opportunity her title is giving her
to advocate for dental care and education. In the short time that she has been
Miss Clarendon, she has distributed over one thousand dental kits and has spread
dental tips and education using her social media platforms for Miss Clarendon;
and
Whereas, Miss Stoney has a goal to create a fundraiser for people who
cannot afford their dental care, using the funds she raises to go toward paying
for a lucky patient's care or procedure; and
Whereas, after completing her year of service as Miss Clarendon, Miss
Stoney plans to continue the pursuit of her dream to become a dentist back home
in order to serve her community because South Carolina has always been home to her;
and
Whereas, during her reign, she will serve as a gracious and inspiring
role model, embodying the qualities of intellect, talent, beauty, and charm
that are admired by all who know her; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great
pleasure in recognizing such an outstanding young woman and representative of
Clarendon as Reese Stoney, and the members wish her well as she continue to
pursue her dreams in the years to come. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of
Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House
of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Reese Stoney, Miss Clarendon,
and commend the exceptional discipline, aspirations, and talent that have
enabled her to represent Clarendon with dignity and poise.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to
Reese Stoney.
