1		HOUSE RESOLUTION
2		    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3		Representatives wish to congratulate Christopher Wido, head
4		baseball coach at Morton College in Cicero, on setting the
5		program's all-time single-season win record and leading the
6		Panthers to the 2026 Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference
7		Championship, the program's first conference title since 1995;
8		and
9		    WHEREAS, Coach Wido has served as head baseball coach at
10		Morton College for the past five years, demonstrating an
11		unwavering commitment to excellence, discipline, and
12		leadership both on and off the field; and
13		    WHEREAS, Coach Wido has been instrumental to the Panthers'
14		unprecedented success; during the 2026 season alone, he led
15		the team to an overall record of 41-19, securing the most
16		single-season victories in Morton College's 102-year baseball
17		history and surpassing his 2024 program record of 37 wins; his
18		exceptional leadership also fostered a remarkable 15-game
19		winning streak and national rankings in six offensive
20		categories; and
21		    WHEREAS, Beyond his impressive record of competitive
22		success, Coach Wido has profoundly impacted the lives of

1		countless student-athletes, mentoring them to excel not only
2		on the baseball field but also in the classroom and within
3		their communities; under his leadership, the Morton College
4		baseball program has earned the American Baseball Coaches
5		Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award for five
6		consecutive years; and
7		    WHEREAS, Coach Wido's dedication to building a
8		championship-caliber program while emphasizing academic
9		achievement, integrity, leadership, and personal character
10		exemplifies the highest ideals of collegiate athletics and
11		brings great credit to Morton College, the Town of Cicero, and
12		the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
13		    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
14		HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
15		we congratulate Christopher Wido, head baseball coach at
16		Morton College, on leading the Panthers to a record-setting
17		41-win season and the 2026 Illinois Skyway Collegiate
18		Conference Championship, and we extend our best wishes for his
19		continued success in the years to come; and be it further
20		    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21		presented to Coach Wido as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
