A senate RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE Frank Hatten UPON THE OCCASION OF
HIS RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS many YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO
WISH HIM MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN THE YEARS AHEAD.
Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Frank Hatten upon the
occasion of his retirement from Boeing South Carolina on September 1, 2026; and
Whereas, a native of
Tuskegee, Alabama, Mr. Hatten is an alumnus of Tuskegee University, The
University of North Carolina - Charlotte, and George Washington University; and
Whereas, Mr. Hatten
worked as a project manager for over thirty years at the International Business
Machines Corporation (IBM). After a storied career at IBM, he decided to take
an early retirement to pursue his dream of becoming an educator; and
Whereas, Mr. Hatten
accepted a position with Global Aeronautica in 2007, at the South Carolina
fuselage subassembly facility in North Charleston. He worked as an aircraft
mechanic for Boeing's 787 Dreamliner program while completing aircraft
maintenance certification at Trident Technical College. He later became a
program manager in the business office, managing relationships with company
partners for all inbound work. He served in this position for five years before
becoming an education relations specialist where his primary responsibility was
site focal for K-12 outreach initiatives for South Carolina; and
Whereas, a civic
leader, Mr. Hatten has served with many community organizations, including the City
of North Charleston Recreation Department; Four Rivers Community Development
Corporation; Liberty Hill Afterschool Enrichment Program; Scouting of America, Coastal
Carolina District; National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Charleston
Professional; Charleston County School District; Dorchester County School
District II; Fort Dorchester High School Athletics; Lowcountry Aviation
Association (LCAA); Tuskegee University; Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. - Hiram Mann
Joint Base Charleston chapter; Tuskegee National Alumni Association, Inc. -
Columbia chapter; and the Tuskegee Human Rights and Multicultural Center; and
Whereas, a devout
Christian, he is a member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church; and
Whereas, Mr. Hatten is the
proud father of two sons, Frank and Daniel; and
Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate appreciate the passion and dedication that Frank
Hatten has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina. Now,
therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the
South Carolina Senate, by this resolution,
congratulate Frank Hatten upon the occasion of his retirement, commend him for
his many years of dedicated service, and wish him much happiness and
fulfillment in the years ahead.
Be it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Frank Hatten.
