Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A house RESOLUTIONto EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THESOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF Harold RaymondWaynick Jr. OF Sumter COUNTY AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS LARGEAND LOVING FAMILY AND HIS MANY FRIENDS.Whereas, the members ofthe South Carolina House of Representatives were saddened to learn of the deathof Harold Raymond Waynick Jr. at the age of seventy-eight on August 23, 2026,while surrounded by family singing hymns and praying as he drifted into thearms of Jesus; andWhereas, born in Sumteron December 18, 1947, he was a son of the late Harold Raymond Waynick Sr. andEvelyn Workman Waynick. He was reared in a loving home with four siblings: RustyWaynick, Danny Waynick, Debbie Evenich, and Bonnie Parker; andWhereas, Mr. Waynickearned a doctorate in pharmacology at the University of South Carolina andserved as a pharmacist for forty-one years and operated Waynick's Pharmacy inSumter; andWhereas, a faithful memberof Zoar Church, he served the congregation as an ordained Baptist lay ministerand Sunday school teacher for over fifty years. He studied the Scripturesintently, spending hours annotating his Bibles, even studying the originalHebrew and Greek; andWhereas, Mr. Waynick madea lasting impact exceeding his earthly life by sharing the gospel of Jesus withall who knew him, not only with words, but with his daily life. Those who spenttime talking with him often learned something new about Jesus and werechallenged to think more deeply about their own faith or pondered their trustin Jesus as their own Savior; andWhereas, Mr. Waynickremained a huge fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks, especially Carolinafootball and women's basketball, and he enjoyed the outdoors where he was anavid deer hunter and bass fisherman; andWhereas, together withhis beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Gail Coker Waynick, he reared three finechildren: Kelliegh W. Lowder, Harold R. "Tripp" Waynick III, and Brent Waynick.His children blessed him with the affection of ten loving grandchildren:Clayton Lowder IV, Coker Lowder, Liza L. Meyers, Kyndal Pillsbury, Mary EllisWaynick, Nathan Harris-Waynick, Harry Waynick, Kinsley Waynick, Sims Waynick,and Banks Waynick. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tillman RoyTumbleston Waynick; andWhereas, Mr. Waynickwas further blessed to see the continuation of his loving and godly familylegacy in three great-grandchildren: Ravenel Lowder, Tate Meyers, and MarleighLowder; andWhereas, the members ofthe South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the life andlegacy of Harold Raymond Waynick Jr. and for the example of faith and devotionhe set for all who knew him.
