LYME, CT – The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that Chester-Hadlyme ferry service is temporarily closed for repairs to the 76-year-old Selden III.
The maintenance work comes as the state moves forward with plans to replace the historic ferry, with $8 million in federal and state funds announced last month by Gov. Ned Lamont.
DOT spokeswoman Eva Zymaris said the vessel, which has run between Chester and Hadlyme since 1950, has been removed from service pending drydock maintenance and seal replacement at the shipyard.

New Haven Mayor Breaks With Lamont, Readies First 7 Traffic Cameras The Elicker administration has installed seven red-light and speed cameras across the city, and plans to turn them on later this month — despite the governor calling on municipalities to pause putting up new “safety cameras” amid public concerns about privacy.
The City of Milford has decided to turn off several of its Flock automatic license plate readers and has put its speed and red light cameras on hold.
