Former Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin was arrested on Thursday in Bourbon County on a contempt charge while he was on the set of an upcoming holiday movie.
The Bourbon County Sheriff's Office said they were notified around 5:30 p.m. that Bevin, who served as the state's governor from 2015 to 2019, was participating in a movie set in Paris and had an active warrant for his arrest stemming from a contempt charge in Jefferson County near Louisville.
According to court documents, the bench warrant was issued as part of an ongoing dissolution of marriage case between Bevin and his ex-wife, Glenna Bevin, over their son.
The Bourbon County Sheriff's Office said it confirmed the warrant and contacted Bevin before taking him into custody "without any issues, as Bevin was very cooperative."
He was held at Bourbon-Nicholas County Region Detention Center before being booked into the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, officials said.
"The Greatest Christmas Gift of All," a new Great American Family movie, was wrapping up a nearly two-week shoot in downtown Paris.
Danica McKellar, best known for her role in "The Wonder Years," stars in the film.
In the new movie, her character and the character's fiancé, played by Matthew Marsden, are preparing for a Christmas wedding when they face a sudden setback and the community rallies around them.
This is the Kentucky city's second movie with Great American Family this year. The film "Silver Bells" was shot in April.
Great American Family describes itself as a "destination for quality family-friendly programming, including original holiday movies, rom-coms and fan-favorite series that celebrate faith, family and country."
"The Wonder Years" star shooting Christmas movie in Bourbon Co.
