Kentucky voters choose ‘I Voted’ sticker design

More than 3,500 voters, who cast ballots at the Kentucky State Fair, chose a design from student Ryker Asher featuring the shape of the commonwealth in blue, a smiling sun and the words “I voted,” Secretary of State Michael Adams announced Thursday.

“Ryker’s achievement is something our entire school community can celebrate,” Bush Elementary Principal Elizabeth Cupp said in a statement. “We are incredibly proud of his creativity, hard work, and willingness to share his talents. It is exciting to see one of our students recognized at the state level.”

Bush Elementary is located in Laurel County, which is in Eastern Kentucky.

Melody Curry, Asher’s art teacher, said in a statement that he “is a joy to have in art class. He is creative, kind and always ready to learn. I am so proud of his accomplishments.”

According to Adams, Laurel County will receive the winning sticker design and other county clerks can request the stickers ahead of the November election.
