Netanyahu will make a quick trip to speak at the UN after Mamdani urged his arrest, diplomat says

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is making a whirlwind 24-hour trip to speak at the U.N.’s annual gathering of world leaders this month after New York’s mayor urged his arrest over the war in Gaza, That's according to Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Danny Danon on Tuesday. Danon accused Mayor Zohran Mamdani of “doing politics” when he called the prime minister a war criminal and urged his arrest. Bu New York City does not have authority to take Netanyahu into custody. Danon says Netanyahu is scheduled to arrive in New York the evening of Sept. 23, address the U.N. General Assembly the afternoon of Sept. 24 and then return to Israel.
