No. 8HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTIONWHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime ofmutual devotion and shared experiences, and Charles and MargaretSemple of Midland marked this joyous milestone on July 31, 2025; andWHEREAS, Charles Semple and the former Margaret Wunsch metwhile attending Texas Christian University, and they were united inmatrimony at a ceremony in Houston on that memorable day in 1965;over the years, they became the parents of two sons, Charles Sempleand Brian Semple, and today their fine family has grown to includefour grandchildren, Charles, Henry, Edward, and George, and adaughter-in-law, Carrie; andWHEREAS, Respected members of the Midland community, Mr. andMrs. Semple previously lived in New York and Houston; Mr. Semplehas been employed as a stockbroker, landman, and investor in the oiland gas industry, and Mrs. Semple has worked at Hospice of Midlandand as a schoolteacher and real estate broker; andWHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Semple have enjoyed traveling acrossthe globe and visiting their grandkids and other loved ones;Mr. Semple spends his free time hunting, fishing, and restoringvintage cars, and he regularly hosts friends and family in hisgarage for Monday Night Football parties; an avid reader, he hasread nearly 1,000 books in a variety of genres, includinghistorical fiction, mysteries, crime, and espionage; Mrs. Semplevolunteers with the Junior League of Midland and at First BaptistChurch, and her diverse interests include photography, quilting,needlepoint, and attending book club with her friends; andWHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Semple have enjoyed six decades ofabiding love and affection for each other, and they are among anexceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lastingcommitment; now, therefore, be itRESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas,2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Charles and Margaret Sempleon their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere bestwishes for continued happiness; and, be it furtherRESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution beprepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the TexasHouse of Representatives and Senate.Craddick____________________________________________________________President of the SenateSpeaker of the HouseI certify that H.C.R.
