hr0019/introduced.txt*HR1522*Introduced VersionHOUSERESOLUTION No. ___Introduced by: Steuerwald____________________________________1A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Representative2 Michelle Davis.3Whereas, Representative Michelle Davis was elected in 20204 to serve the citizens of Indiana House District 58 and will5 conclude her service in the Indiana House of Representatives6 at the end of the 2026 legislative session;7Whereas, Representative Davis is a lifelong resident of8 Indiana and currently resides in Whiteland;9 Whereas, Representative Davis earned a Bachelor of Science10 degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University and11 a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an12 emphasis on Career and Technical Education, from Purdue13 University;20262395HR 1522/DI 140 202621 Whereas, During her six years of service in the Indiana2 House of Representatives, Representative Davis has served as3 Vice Chair of the Education Committee and as a member of the4 Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development5 Committee, the Financial Institutions Committee, and the6 Judiciary Committee;7Whereas, Beyond her legislative duties, Representative Davis8 serves as the Director of Adult Education at Central Nine9 Career Center and is married to her husband, James, with10 whom she has two children, Stephanie and Nickolas;11Whereas, Throughout her legislative career, Representative12 Davis has been a steadfast advocate for the education of13 Indiana's children and has supported and advanced legislation14 that has strengthened Indiana's reputation as a leader in15 academic achievement;16Whereas, Prior to and alongside her service in the Indiana17 General Assembly, Representative Davis has served on the18 Region 5 Workforce Development Board and the Board of19 Governors for the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, and she is an20 active member of the Indiana Association of Adult and21 Continuing Education;22Whereas, Representative Davis has also been recognized as23 a strong supporter of female athletics and female athletes,24 having attended Ball State on a basketball scholarship and25 being a member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame;26 Whereas, Throughout her tenure, Representative Davis has27 demonstrated a commitment to integrity and fairness; and28Whereas, Representative Michelle Davis has served her29 constituents with dedication and distinction since her election30 to the Indiana House of Representatives: Therefore,31Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the32General Assembly of the State of Indiana:33 SECTION 1.
