A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Representative
Michelle Davis.
Whereas, Representative Michelle Davis was elected in 2020
to serve the citizens of Indiana House District 58 and will
conclude her service in the Indiana House of Representatives
at the end of the 2026 legislative session;
Whereas, Representative Davis is a lifelong resident of
Indiana and currently resides in Whiteland;
Whereas, Representative Davis earned a Bachelor of Science
degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University and
a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an
emphasis on Career and Technical Education, from Purdue
University;

Whereas, During her six years of service in the Indiana
House of Representatives, Representative Davis has served as
Vice Chair of the Education Committee and as a member of the
Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development
Committee, the Financial Institutions Committee, and the
Judiciary Committee;
Whereas, Beyond her legislative duties, Representative Davis
serves as the Director of Adult Education at Central Nine
Career Center and is married to her husband, James, with
whom she has two children, Stephanie and Nickolas;
Whereas, Throughout her legislative career, Representative
Davis has been a steadfast advocate for the education of
Indiana's children and has supported and advanced legislation
that has strengthened Indiana's reputation as a leader in
academic achievement;
Whereas, Prior to and alongside her service in the Indiana
General Assembly, Representative Davis has served on the
Region 5 Workforce Development Board and the Board of
Governors for the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, and she is an
active member of the Indiana Association of Adult and
Continuing Education;
Whereas, Representative Davis has also been recognized as
a strong supporter of female athletics and female athletes,
having attended Ball State on a basketball scholarship and
being a member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame;
Whereas, Throughout her tenure, Representative Davis has
demonstrated a commitment to integrity and fairness; and
Whereas, Representative Michelle Davis has served her
constituents with dedication and distinction since her election
to the Indiana House of Representatives: Therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
honors Representative Michelle Davis upon her retirement.

SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives shall transmit a copy of this resolution to
Representative Michelle Davis.
