1A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Representative
2    Michelle Davis.
3Whereas, Representative Michelle Davis was elected in 2020
4    to serve the citizens of Indiana House District 58 and will
5    conclude her service in the Indiana House of Representatives
6    at the end of the 2026 legislative session;
7Whereas, Representative Davis is a lifelong resident of
8    Indiana and currently resides in Whiteland;
9      Whereas, Representative Davis earned a Bachelor of Science
10    degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University and
11    a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an
12    emphasis on Career and Technical Education, from Purdue
13    University;

1      Whereas, During her six years of service in the Indiana
2    House of Representatives, Representative Davis has served as
3    Vice Chair of the Education Committee and as a member of the
4    Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development
5    Committee, the Financial Institutions Committee, and the
6    Judiciary Committee;
7Whereas, Beyond her legislative duties, Representative Davis
8    serves as the Director of Adult Education at Central Nine
9    Career Center and is married to her husband, James, with
10    whom she has two children, Stephanie and Nickolas;
11Whereas, Throughout her legislative career, Representative
12    Davis has been a steadfast advocate for the education of
13    Indiana's children and has supported and advanced legislation
14    that has strengthened Indiana's reputation as a leader in
15    academic achievement;
16Whereas, Prior to and alongside her service in the Indiana
17    General Assembly, Representative Davis has served on the
18    Region 5 Workforce Development Board and the Board of
19    Governors for the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, and she is an
20    active member of the Indiana Association of Adult and
21    Continuing Education;
22Whereas, Representative Davis has also been recognized as
23    a strong supporter of female athletics and female athletes,
24    having attended Ball State on a basketball scholarship and
25    being a member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame;
26      Whereas, Throughout her tenure, Representative Davis has
27    demonstrated a commitment to integrity and fairness; and
28Whereas, Representative Michelle Davis has served her
29    constituents with dedication and distinction since her election
30    to the Indiana House of Representatives: Therefore,
31Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
32General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
33      SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
34    honors Representative Michelle Davis upon her retirement.

1      SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
2    Representatives shall transmit a copy of this resolution to
3    Representative Michelle Davis.
