               RESOLUTION No. ____
1     A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating Michelin
2 North America, Inc., upon the occasion of the 65th anniversary
3 of its BFGoodrich tire production facility in Fort Wayne,
4 Indiana.
5  Whereas, The BFGoodrich tire production facility in Fort
6 Wayne, Indiana, will be celebrating its 65th anniversary in
7 2026;
8   Whereas, Michelin initially produced removable pneumatic
9 tires for bicycles and horse-drawn carriages. They introduced
10 automobile tires in the 1890s, setting the company on the path
11 to becoming one of the world's iconic tire manufacturers;
12   Whereas, BFGoodrich Company was founded in 1870,
13 manufactured the first U.S. pneumatic tire in 1896, and in 1976
14 created the world's first radial all-terrain performance tire,
15 launching the all-terrain category;
16   Whereas, BFGoodrich broke ground on its tire production
17 facility in Fort Wayne in 1960 and produced its first tire on
18 September 20, 1961;
19   Whereas, The twentieth century marked a period of
20 significant product innovation, growth, and demand. Michelin
21 began expanding into new global markets, including North
22 America;
23   Whereas, Michelin acquired BFGoodrich in 1990, aligning
24 complementary product portfolios;

1  Whereas, Michelin's continued demonstrated commitment to
2 Fort Wayne since the 1990s has been successful;
3   Whereas, Michelin has been an outstanding corporate citizen,
4 donating millions of dollars and volunteering tens of thousands
5 of hours to support the communities where its associates live
6 and work;
7   Whereas, The company's economic growth has benefited
8 many generations of workers through thriving manufacturing
9 careers;
10   Whereas, The company proudly employs more than 1,500
11 people at its Fort Wayne BFGoodrich manufacturing site; and
12   Whereas, The members of the Indiana General Assembly
13 greatly appreciate Michelin's dedication and commitment to
14 serving the people of Indiana: Therefore,
15Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
16of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
17the Senate concurring:
18    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
19 congratulates Michelin North America, Inc., upon the occasion
20 of the 65th anniversary of its BFGoodrich tire manufacturing
21 operations and commends the company for its many years of
22 dedicated service to the Allen County community and the
23 people of Indiana.
24    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
25 Representatives shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the
26 director of Michelin's BFGoodrich tire manufacturing plant in
27 Fort Wayne.
