2A resolution designating January 21, 2026, as "Kappa
3Alpha Psi Day" in Florida.

5WHEREAS, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., is a public
6 service organization founded on January 5, 1911, by 10 great men
7 at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, with an objective
8 to unite college men in a bond of fraternity, and
9WHEREAS, the fraternity has vowed to make great
10    achievements in all fields of human endeavor by providing
11    resources and services to the community, and
12WHEREAS, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., is a brotherhood
13    of college educated men committed to executing the fraternity's
14    ideals through many valuable programs such as Guide Right, a
15    national service program that provides high school and college
16    students with educational and occupational guidance; Diamonds in
17    the Rough, a national campaign designed to increase the number
18    of young men of color being accepted to and attending
19    postsecondary institutions; and the National Kappa League, a
20    program that provides educational, occupational, and social
21    guidance to male students in 6th through 12th grades, and
22WHEREAS, for over 115 years, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity,
23    Inc., has provided exemplary service and support to local
24    communities by leading dialogue on public policy issues,

25    supporting quality education, and producing new projects to
26    stimulate current and future economic growth, and
27WHEREAS, members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., are
28    visible as corporate and civic leaders, respected public
29    officials, acclaimed academics, and activists in their own
30    right, and
31WHEREAS, Florida is home to 20 undergraduate chapters and
32    26 alumni chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and
33WHEREAS, on January 21, 2026, members of Kappa Alpha Psi
34    Fraternity, Inc., representing Florida converged in Tallahassee
35    for "Kappas at the Capitol Day," NOW, THEREFORE,

37    Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
38    Florida:

40That January 21, 2026, is designated as "Kappa Alpha Psi
41    Day" in Florida in recognition of the many contributions that
42    the members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., have made to
43    this state.
