8 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require the
9 Division of Fire Safety within the Department of Public Safety to initiate
10 rulemaking to implement a residential universal design building code and to
11 require that a housing development that utilizes State funding incorporate
12 housing designs that meet the residential universal design building code
13 adopted by the Division.
