Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require the
Division of Fire Safety within the Department of Public Safety to initiate
rulemaking to implement a residential universal design building code and to
require that a housing development that utilizes State funding incorporate
housing designs that meet the residential universal design building code
adopted by the Division.
