  A RESOLUTION
  Honoring the Strasburg-Franklin High School girls  1
  basketball team on winning the 2026 Division VII  2
  State Championship.  3
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly    4
of Ohio are pleased to commend the Strasburg-Franklin High School        5
girls basketball team as the 2026 Division VII State Champion; and       6
     WHEREAS, The Strasburg-Franklin High School girls basketball team   7
has proven to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad and has       8
gained the respect of fans and opponents alike for its spirited and      9
highly motivated performances. Throughout the season, the Tigers  10
worked diligently to improve in skill, and as a result, the team  11
defeated a tough Russia opponent with a score of 38-17 and brought       12
home this year’s state championship, the first state crown in program    13
history; and  14
     WHEREAS, Known as a driven and determined team, the Strasburg-      15
Franklin Tigers have developed into a remarkably efficient group of      16
players whose skill is equaled only by their exemplary display of        17
teamwork. They are a credit not only to their families and their  18
school but also to the superb leadership of their coach, Tyler Bates;    19
and  20
     WHEREAS, The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring  21
ability, endurance, and a positive attitude on the part of athletes      22
and coaches alike. The members of the Strasburg-Franklin High School     23
girls basketball team have exemplified the characteristics that are      24
essential for success both in and out of competition, including  25
courage, discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their        26
efforts have earned them the admiration of all those who have  27

witnessed these outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it  28
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General     29
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the Strasburg-       30
Franklin High School girls basketball team on its 2026 Division VII        31
State Championship and offer best wishes for the years to come; and be     32
it further  33
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly  34
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Strasburg-Franklin High       35
School girls basketball team.  36
