                              HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1607

                              A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Freely Fest, a new music
                                           festival in Nashville.
       WHEREAS, it is the privilege of the members of this General Assembly to recognize
those cultural events that seek to foster the arts and enrich the places they call home; and
       WHEREAS, one such event is Freely Fest in Nashville, a new music festival celebrating
the power of music and the freedoms protected by the First Amendment, which was held at
Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on April 8, 2026; and
       WHEREAS, this spectacular event saw a constellation of performers, including the
Killers, T-Pain, Dominic Fike, Janelle Monáe, Avery Anna, Morgxn, Marcella Simien, Kyshona,
Bobby Cannavale, and Javier Muñoz, and was hosted by Ariana DeBose; and
       WHEREAS, presented by the Freedom Forum, a nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) foundation,
Freely Fest sought to inspire artists and audiences to come together around music and the First
Amendment freedoms that protect it; and
       WHEREAS, the Freedom Forum is one of the nation's leading voices on the First
Amendment and the five freedoms it protects, and its mission is to foster First Amendment
freedoms for all; and
       WHEREAS, the Freedom Forum envisions an America where everyone knows, values,
and defends the freedoms of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition; and
       WHEREAS, Freely Fest enriched the arts and culture of Nashville and the State of
Tennessee, and it is fitting that the event and its sponsoring organization be honored; now,
therefore,
       BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE

CONCURRING, that we honor and commend Freely Fest and the Freedom Forum, express our
sincere gratitude for the good work of this organization, and extend our best wishes for its
continued success in the future.
       BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
without House or Senate designation.
