HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1608

A RESOLUTION to honor Jeremy Boyd on being inducted into the
National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly take great pleasure in paying tribute
to those gifted coaches who have attained the very pinnacle of sporting achievement; and
WHEREAS, Jeremy Boyd is one such legendary high school wrestling coach, who is
being inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in the Lifetime Service category on May
9, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Coach Boyd is an iconic figure within his community, and his impact on
Cheatham County wrestling is nothing short of extraordinary; and
WHEREAS, he began his coaching career at Cheatham County Central High School in
1997, and this fierce competitor is still going strong; and
WHEREAS, for thirty years, Jeremy Boyd has been the backbone of Cheatham County's
program, leading his team to 300-plus victories and two TSSAA State Dual appearances; and
WHEREAS, Coach Boyd's dedication extends far beyond the high school wrestling
team; and
WHEREAS, in addition to coaching the middle school team, he is a founding member of
the Mid-Cumberland Athletic Conference, helping to shape opportunities for young wrestlers
across the region; and
WHEREAS, Jeremy Boyd embodies everything that wrestling has to teach young
people: sacrifice, effort, teamwork, and being part of something bigger than yourself; he is a true
leader, a community cornerstone, and a model of what it means to give your all; and

WHEREAS, Coach Boyd has demonstrated peerless leadership and tactical skill
throughout his long and distinguished coaching career, and it is fitting that we should recognize
him on this special occasion; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we honor and congratulate Jeremy Boyd on being inducted into the
National Wrestling Hall of Fame in the Lifetime Service category and extend to him our best
wishes for much continued success and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
without House or Senate designation.
