HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 303
BY REPRESENTATIVE MURRAY
  A RESOLUTION
To commend Spotlight Dance Nola on the occasion of its tenth anniversary and to recognize
        its outstanding contributions to youth development, arts education, cultural
        enrichment, and the empowerment of young people in the city of New Orleans and
        throughout the state of Louisiana.
        WHEREAS, Spotlight Dance Nola was founded by Tai Teamer on September 29,
2016, and is located at the heart of the Gentilly and Seventh Ward communities on Gentilly
Boulevard in New Orleans; and
        WHEREAS, under the leadership of founder and director Tai Teamer and assistant
director Tia Teamer, Spotlight Dance Nola has distinguished itself as a premier dance and
performing arts organization that inspires confidence, discipline, creativity, and leadership
in young people through the transformative power of dance and artistic expression; and
        WHEREAS, Spotlight Dance Nola has created a safe, inclusive, and empowering
environment where youth are encouraged to develop their talents, pursue excellence, and
build lifelong skills that extend beyond the stage and into their educational, professional, and
personal lives; and
        WHEREAS, the organization demonstrates a steadfast commitment to cultivating
artistic excellence and promotes teamwork, self-esteem, cultural appreciation, and
community engagement among students and families across the Greater New Orleans area;
and
        WHEREAS, Spotlight Dance Nola has positively impacted countless young people
by fostering discipline, perseverance, confidence, and leadership through performances,
competitions, community showcases, mentorship opportunities, and youth-centered
programming; and

       WHEREAS, Spotlight Dance Nola provides youth with opportunities for artistic
expression, mentorship, personal growth, and community connection in historically and
culturally rich neighborhoods, and the organization is a pillar of the Gentilly and Seventh
Ward communities; and
       WHEREAS, the organization's instructors, leadership team, parents, volunteers, and
supporters have collectively dedicated countless hours to ensure that young dancers are
given opportunities to thrive; and
       WHEREAS, Spotlight Dance Nola serves as a shining example of how arts education
and community investment can strengthen neighborhoods, uplift families, and provide
pathways for youth achievement and personal growth; and
       WHEREAS, the state of Louisiana recognizes the importance of organizations that
enrich the cultural fabric of our communities while helping prepare the next generation of
leaders, creatives, and changemakers, and Spotlight Dance Nola is one such organization
that is deserving of recognition for its outstanding work.
       THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Spotlight Dance Nola on the occasion of its
tenth anniversary for its exceptional service and dedication to the youth and families of
Louisiana and does hereby extend best wishes for its continued commitment to artistic
excellence, mentorship, and community empowerment.
