  A RESOLUTION
  Honoring the City of Loveland on its One Hundred  1
  Fiftieth Anniversary.  2
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th   3
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the City of       4
Loveland on its Sesquicentennial; and  5
     WHEREAS, Over the past one hundred fifty years, the City of  6
Loveland has experienced dramatic growth and change, and yet,  7
commendably, it still radiates vitality, optimism, and a charm all its   8
own. First settled in 1795 by Colonel Thomas Paxton, the territory       9
that would become Loveland was formally incorporated as a village on     10
May 16, 1876, and in the decades since, it has been the beloved home     11
to many. Earning the sobriquet of "the Sweetheart of Ohio," this  12
unique community certainly has just cause for celebration; and  13
     WHEREAS, Even as they have exuberantly embraced the promise of a    14
bright future, the residents of Loveland have never relinquished their   15
appreciation for the worthiest virtues of the past. Indeed, they have    16
managed to nurture a fresh perspective and a positive outlook that       17
continue to endear this distinctive city to all who know it well; and    18
     WHEREAS, Every state depends upon such vibrant, durable  19
communities as Loveland for its own survival and stability. Although     20
having known adversity and tribulation, it also has been favored with    21
its share of blessings, and in the years to come, the municipality is    22
sure to remain on its admirable course and to continue to transform      23
challenges into opportunities; therefore be it  24
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of   25
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,  26
congratulate the City of Loveland as it commemorates its One Hundred     27

Fiftieth Anniversary and offer our best wishes for its perennial good      28
fortune; and be it further  29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the City of Loveland.      31
