1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Economic development and opportunity are
3 priorities in the State of Illinois; and
4 WHEREAS, Illinois is proud to be a national leader in
5 outdoor tourism, highlighting the beauty and diverse landscape
6 of our State; and
7 WHEREAS, Off-highway vehicles, such as all-terrain
8 vehicles (ATVs), utility task vehicles (UTVs), and dirt bikes,
9 have seen a dramatic increase in ownership, with a projected
10 market growth of over $5 billion nationally over the next five
11 years; and
12 WHEREAS, Tourism associated with off-highway vehicles has
13 resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenue
14 throughout the Midwest; and
15 WHEREAS, Illinois is home to a growing tourism industry
16 involving off-highway vehicles, including private and
17 publicly-owned facilities; and
18 WHEREAS, Additional opportunities for development of
19 off-highway vehicle tourism still remain within the State of
20 Illinois; and

1 WHEREAS, It is within the purview of the House of
2 Representatives to encourage economic development and
3 opportunity in Illinois; therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5 HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6 we recognize the current impact and potential for future
7 growth of the off-highway vehicle tourism industry in State of
8 Illinois; and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That we encourage all stakeholders and state
10 agencies to continue fostering the growth of the off-highway
11 vehicle tourism industry by working together to develop new
12 opportunities for the enjoyment of off-highway vehicles in
13 Illinois.

Recognizes the current impact and potential for future growth of the off-highway vehicle tourism industry in State of Illinois. Encourages all stakeholders and state agencies to continue fostering the growth of the off-highway vehicle tourism industry by working together to develop new opportunities for the enjoyment of off-highway vehicles in Illinois.
