hr47/introduced.txt26LC 112 4311House Resolution 47EXBy: Representatives Hilton of the 48th, Jones of the 47th, Bonner of the 73rd, Martin of the49th, Ballard of the 147th, and othersA RESOLUTION1 Recognizing and commending Robert Lund Hilton and Chris Ann Chapman Hilton; and for2 other purposes.3 WHEREAS, Robert Lund and Chris Ann Chapman Hilton have been united in marriage4 since August 2, 1975, and throughout more than five decades together, they have exemplified5 the values of faith, family, service, and professional achievement; and6 WHEREAS, born in Beloit, Wisconsin, in 1952, Robert Hilton honorably served in the7 United States Army before returning to Florida State University to complete his education8 and begin his successful professional career, establishing himself as a respected newspaper9 professional with the St. Petersburg Times, the Kansas City Star, and the Wichita Eagle; and10 WHEREAS, following his accomplished career in journalism, he continued serving others11 as a financial advisor with Raymond James in St. Petersburg until his retirement in 2023; and12 WHEREAS, Chris Ann Chapman Hilton was born in Columbus, Georgia, in 1953, and she13 graduated from Florida State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in marketing,14 remaining a proud supporter of her alma mater throughout her life; andH. R. 47EX-1-26LC 112 431115 WHEREAS, after returning to St. Petersburg, Florida, she devoted herself to her family while16 becoming deeply involved in the civic, cultural, and charitable organizations that strengthen17 her community; and18 WHEREAS, her dedication to community service is reflected in her leadership as president19 of the Stuart Society of the Museum of Fine Arts and chaplain of the Saint Petersburg20 Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution as well as her longstanding support of21 numerous local organizations; and22 WHEREAS, together, Robert and Chris Hilton have raised three sons, Scott, David, and23 Stephen, and have been blessed with eight grandchildren, whose lives reflect the strong24 foundation of faith, character, and love established by their family; and25 WHEREAS, through their enduring partnership and many contributions to their professions,26 church, and community, Robert and Chris Hilton have earned the admiration and respect of27 all who know them and serve as an inspiration to others.28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that29 the members of this body recognize and commend Robert Lund and Chris Ann Chapman30 Hilton for their many contributions on behalf of their community, state, and extended family31 as well as extend best wishes for continued health, happiness, and success.32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized33 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to34 Robert Lund and Chris Ann Chapman Hilton.H.
