A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Alex C. Habersham; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, for more than three decades, Alex C. Habersham has been a leading advocate
for economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and community advancement throughout
Middle Georgia, dedicating his life and career to expanding opportunities for African
American businesses and strengthening the region's economic foundation; and
WHEREAS, in 1991, Mr. Habersham founded the Macon-Middle Georgia Black Pages, a
groundbreaking publication established to address the critical need for greater visibility,
access, and opportunity for Black-owned businesses throughout Central Georgia; and
WHEREAS, over the past 35 years, the Macon-Middle Georgia Black Pages has evolved
into a trusted and respected regional resource, connecting residents, entrepreneurs,
corporations, and community organizations while serving as a catalyst for economic growth
and increased circulation of dollars within the African American community; and
WHEREAS, through its consistent promotion of local businesses, the publication has helped
countless entrepreneurs gain exposure, expand their customer base, achieve long-term
sustainability, and contribute meaningfully to the economic vitality of the region; and

WHEREAS, under Mr. Habersham's visionary leadership, the publication expanded beyond
a business directory into a comprehensive economic, cultural, and informational guide that
chronicles the achievements, challenges, and growth of African American entrepreneurship
throughout Middle Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the publication has further served as an important platform for promoting
workforce development, civic engagement, educational opportunities, and community pride
while highlighting the contributions of African Americans to the economic and cultural
fabric of the region; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Habersham's commitment to service extends well beyond publishing, as
he has devoted more than 30 years to mentoring emerging leaders, organizing community
initiatives, advocating for minority business development, supporting youth empowerment,
and fostering regional collaboration; and
WHEREAS, he is the co-founder and board chair of the Central Georgia Coalition of Black
Businesses, an organization dedicated to strengthening Black-owned businesses through
education, networking, advocacy, and strategic partnerships that advance economic
opportunity throughout Central Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the 2026-2027 Commemorative Edition of the Macon-Middle Georgia Black
Pages marks the publication's historic 35th Anniversary and serves as its final print edition,
symbolizing both a remarkable legacy and an exciting transition into an expanded digital
future; and
WHEREAS, this milestone edition stands as a tribute to the businesses, organizations, and
individuals whose contributions have shaped the economic landscape of Middle Georgia and

reflects Mr. Habersham's unwavering dedication to preserving and promoting that legacy;
and
WHEREAS, through his vision, perseverance, innovation, and steadfast commitment to
community advancement, Alex C. Habersham has made a profound and lasting impact on
the economic development of Middle Georgia, advanced opportunities for African American
entrepreneurs, promoted equity and inclusion, and strengthened the identity and prosperity
of the communities he serves; and
WHEREAS, his distinguished career and exemplary service continue to inspire future
generations of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and community advocates throughout the
State of Georgia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Alex C. Habersham upon the 35th
Anniversary of the Macon-Middle Georgia Black Pages for his extraordinary contributions
to economic empowerment, business development, and community advancement throughout
Middle Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Alex
C. Habersham.
